In Central Evia, you will find Dirfis with its alpine landscapes, the unique beaches on the northeastern side of the island, Eretria, the medieval towers in Messapia, and the Byzantine churches in Avlonas.

On the southern side of the island, discover the land of the winds with the enigmatic "dragon houses" and the Ochi mountain range, the magical gorge of Dimosari, the archaeological treasures of Eretria, and the medieval castles in Aliveri, Styra, and Karystos.

Sights

Chialiadou beach

With a total length of over 400 meters, this beautiful beach with crystal clear waters was once a pirate's lair. What is certain is that it took its name from the Byzantine chapel of Panagia Hiliadou, which is located very close to the beach. The chapel, in turn, according to one version, seems to have taken its name because it was the thousandth church built by Empress Theodora. Today, it attracts a multitude of visitors, especially people who love nature and free camping.

Thermal Springs

Famous since antiquity for the unique ingredients of its waters, the baths of Aidipsos heal body and soul. In the line of emperors and Roman generals who passed through here, add the famous - prime ministers, writers, shipowners - of the 19th and 20th centuries. Immerse yourself in the thermal waters, in the old hydrotherapy facilities designed by Tsiller, breathe in the sea air, and feel reborn!

The city of Chalkida

It is perfectly... balanced, despite the fact that the waters under the old bridge of Chalkida change direction every six hours. The reason for this is the attraction exerted by the moon and the difference in level between the southern and northern Evoikos Gulf. Fresh fish and seafood, endless walks on the promenade with cafes and restaurants.
